Straight back into it! Harness for an epic Discove Straight back into it! Harness for an epic Discovery 2, heading off to Australia!Joe have me a call last year and we were chatting about building a harness for his Discovery 2 4.4 AJV8 project he was building. We were chatting about him putting the 8HP gearbox into this beasty, and the phone signal went a bit 90's. He apologised, as he was in the Ocean just off Perth. Perth?!Right.Long story short, I built this harness up for him to run the 4.4 AJV8, as fitted to the Range Rover L322, mated up to the 8HP gearbox and the Epic MaxxECU Race Gen2. And he 'popped over' to collect it and take it home in hand luggage! You Aussies are absolutely insane! I ordered from E-Bay an old Discovery 2 instrument cluster so that I could integrate the cluster for him. I've created some really basic tables that emulate the exact same behaviour as the OEM would have. Essentially an easy task here, but potentially drama from the opposite side of the planet! LOL!Without a doubt the furthest I've sent a harness, and Joe came through the door all smiles! Brought us over a Plush Wombat and some Aussie 'Road Signs' for the kids. The guy even offered to put us up if ever we wanted to go over there!  I mean, what a gent!I'd not been looking forward to going back to work after the break honestly, but I've not met such an upbeat guy for ages! Certainly for our Jagaur fraternity!The X100 Jaguar XK & XKR, the 8-Speed conversion prototype is finalised. Something Swallows and I have been working on in the background for a while now. As you may know, I've been running the 8-Speed ZF gearbox (8HP70) in #Senderella for nearly 2 years now. But we wanted to 'Level Up'. Lets integrate this 8-Speed gearbox into the road cars. Let's make it as seamless as we can. The ZF 8HP is a fantastic gearbox due to its blend of smoothness, speed, efficiency, and versatility, offering quicker shifts than many dual-clutch transmissions while maintaining traditional automatic comfort, keeping engines in optimal power bands for better performance and economy. The ZF8 is a benchmark for both performance and every day driving.Full CAN integration, including some fancy 'Hacks' I've come up with for map switching and so on!This conversion completely removes the OEM PCM and the old gearbox. This is an unadulterated complete tuning solution. There are no limits to tuning any more. Gone are the days of BDM on the old ECU. Gone are the days of fudge ups to make things 'just work' at best. I run through selecting gearbox behaviour using the OEM steering wheel controls, and gearbox mode displayed on OEM tachometer over CAN. This conversion has been in test for a good while now, and I'm just about at a point where I'm happy with it. Another F-Type 5.0 Engine & Gearbox custom calibra Another F-Type 5.0 Engine & Gearbox custom calibration on the rolling road.I know I rarely post about tuning the OEM ECU's. Rest assured though, we use our knowledge of tuning Jaguars for the road and race to perfect our tuning techniques. This AWD F-Type came in for a base run and a custom calibration in accordance with the client requirements. In this case we were asked to in addition to gaining power and torque, to raise the rpm limiter in N & P from 4k to 6k.Road or Race, we can help with tuning your Jaguar. Working with Swallows Jaguar - Swallows Racing daily on some awesome Jaguar projects. This was the 550ps version. It's relatively straightforward to go up to the 575ps on the whole F-Type 5.0 range. We ensured this went that little more though. Like a supercharger, only MORE!We worked with Tom from Swallows Jaguar - Swallows Racing about 5-6 years ago now developing his AJ16S with a TVS1900 Supercharger.Rough spec, AJ16S forged internals, TTV flywheel and clutch, shot peened and upgraded gearset. Custom CNC inlet manifold and supercharger mounting brackets. Air-to-Air intercooling, electronic BMW water pump controlled by the MaxxECU. VAG Coil on Plug. JEK coated exhaust manifold and system. Raychem loom, with MaxxECU Pro, PDM20. Electronic power steering.Power, 450bhp (DIN) at 14psi(G). It was complex, and involved more time and money than I could deal with at that point.James pulled all the stops out, as per usual. He can virtually read my mind the fucker. It's just what I had planned! He did the same with the exhaust when I wanted that done! I hope he can't see all the sordid nonsense that goes in my mind saying that!Either way, behold. The full titanium PVE 'Big Dong CAI' that I wanted!Extra BHP's?! Probably next to nothing at this point, although, it's a bigger diameter than the alloy one we'd thrown together a few years ago. When we come to machining the supercharger out next year, we'll be all set and golden! I just wanted it. Ed's Mk5 Ecoboost Track Car,Ed as far as I know Ed's Mk5 Ecoboost Track Car,Ed as far as I know was one of the first people to run an Ecoboost in the Mk5 Fiesta all those years ago. It was magazine featured too, back when we had magazines, ahh, the good old days! Ed makes engine mounts for these little rockets, and has another build on the go as we speak!Back when he first converted the vehicle it had an aftermarket ECU system on it. I think it's fair to say he slowly got a little dissatisfied with the system after a number of failures of various components. He made the decision to run the OEM ST180 ECU with an Immo off, and get it tuned accordingly to his hybrid turbo, and his Area Six engine.I've dealt with Ed on a number of occasions, and well aware of his attention to detail and I was convinced we would be able to get the thing sorted for him.We've worked closely with Kenny & Stu from Motorsport Developments LTD over the years, and knew this was a job for these boys!  A few datalogging sessions on the Dyno, and a the hybrid was dialled in giving us the boost curve and power curve we were after. Rev limiters raised, custom idle strategy as Eds engine mounts are designed more for 'track use' let's say, and some other little bits and pieces that he wanted.The car made some nice power on his hybrid, but not absolutely ringing the neck out of it so nice for track use!Thanks for popping over Ed, great to see you, and hopefully catch up with you at Combe at some point. 👌#tuningshed #mk5fiesta #ecoboost #dynodfamily #ecobeast #msd #motorsportdevelopments #pve

We've supplied a custom harness to his specifications, including all the relevent Bosch goodies to upgrade it fully.We can't supply the actual ECU outside the UK so he's gone to his local dealer to collect a MaxxECU Race.At least he can have a decent cup of Yorkshire Tea and some biscuits on us while fitting it! Another Turbo R53 built by @611motorsport running Another Turbo R53 built by @611motorsport running Maxxecu.Joe's Time Attack Championship R53 is proof that although sometimes things don't go smoothly, but keeping a cool head and attacking issues face on can pay off in dividends. Joe purchased what was thought to be a high quality engine, but turned out to be a bit of a lemon. Fortunately, the boys at 611 were up the challenge. The engine was pulled and shipped off to @sc_porting who bored it, fitted a correct size set of pistons and sent it back to Dave at 611. It was then bolted back in, and the journey from Manchester to good old Somerset back to us was made!The Maxxecu / Maxxtuning AB Race controls the W11 perfectly, coupled with our remote mount harness it's the perfect race combination.Joe has in car adjustable boost, internal datalogging for all the normal channels, including oil temp/pressure fuel temp/pressure, lambda, boost ect ect.Putting down the right numbers for the setup, and should be an animal. The ZF 8HP is a fantastic gearbox due to its blend of smoothness, speed, efficiency, and versatility, offering quicker shifts than many dual-clutch transmissions while maintaining traditional automatic comfort, keeping engines in optimal power bands for better performance and economy. 

The ZF8 is a benchmark for both performance and every day driving.

Full CAN integration, including some fancy 'Hacks' I've come up with for map switching and so on!

This conversion completely removes the OEM PCM and the old gearbox. 

This is an unadulterated complete tuning solution. There are no limits to tuning any more. Gone are the days of BDM on the old ECU. Gone are the days of fudge ups to make things 'just work' at best. Full control, and full control live!

Twas the last Friday before Xmas, and the big Ginger Bearded one was stirring!

Sam's Volvo will be an epic beast, lost of goodies, naturally! He rented our 8HP flashing tool a couple of weeks ago, and managed to flash his TCU in preperation for the ECU & Harness turning up! I look forward to working with him, turning that 240 into a beast!

Another AJ16 package heading off up to Swallows for Colin to fit to his Racing Jaguar XJ40 ready for next seasons racing! He's moving up a class, naturally we look forward to supporting him.

Apologies as I mentioned in the video if this sort of thing is boring. I'm trying yet again to turn over a new leaf, and post regularly. I often forget to post for 3 months. I don't know how some other guys frequent Social Media so much honestly, it feels like theres barely enough time to do the job, let alone talk about it to a camera!

Jaguar X100 XK / XKR 8HP conversion. I run throu Jaguar X100 XK / XKR 8HP conversion. 

I run through selecting gearbox behaviour using the OEM steering wheel controls, and gearbox mode displayed on OEM tachometer over CAN. 

I've got a full video on my youtube about this conversion coming out over the next few days. This conversion has been in test for a good while now, and I'm just about at a point where I'm happy with it. All the modern bells and whistles!

This conversion opens the doors to absolutely any engine modifications you can think of, easily. No messing, now with Automatic Transmission support. (8HP)

This car has a set of Jenvey Heritage bodies as part of a 'mild modernisation' of the car, so that the owner can fully enjoy it.

We got involved to make his newly purchased MaxxECU work in harmony with the classic parts!

I was honoured to be able to work with this car, it's genuinely as lovely as it looks in the video.

I know I rarely post about tuning the OEM ECU's. Rest assured though, we use our knowledge of tuning Jaguars for the road and race to perfect our tuning techniques. 

This AWD F-Type came in for a base run and a custom calibration in accordance with the client requirements. In this case we were asked to in addition to gaining power and torque, to raise the rpm limiter in N & P from 4k to 6k.

Working with Swallows Jaguar - Swallows Racing daily on some awesome Jaguar projects. 

This was the 550ps version. It's relatively straightforward to go up to the 575ps on the whole F-Type 5.0 range. We ensured this went that little more though. The silky smooth 8HP tuned to cut shift times, and make use of the new power and torque correctly.

A few minutes describing why our supercharged race cars sound like they do! Like a supercharger, only MORE!

We worked with Tom from Swallows Jaguar - Swallows Racing about 5-6 years ago now developing his AJ16S with a TVS1900 Supercharger.

Rough spec, AJ16S forged internals, TTV flywheel and clutch, shot peened and upgraded gearset. Custom CNC inlet manifold and supercharger mounting brackets. Air-to-Air intercooling, electronic BMW water pump controlled by the MaxxECU. VAG Coil on Plug. JEK coated exhaust manifold and system. Raychem loom, with MaxxECU Pro, PDM20. Electronic power steering.

Power, 450bhp (DIN) at 14psi(G). Yes it will go more, it was limited to 14psi for the race series it was in at the time. :-)

She's back out after a decent load of upgrades, and we look forward to seeing what she can do. ;-)

Id dropped my car down to the man the legend James King at JEK Fabrications  a while ago.

A couple years ago I'd discussed with him the air intake I wanted to do. It was complex, and involved more time and money than I could deal with at that point.

James pulled all the stops out, as per usual. He can virtually read my mind the fucker. It's just what I had planned! He did the same with the exhaust when I wanted that done! I hope he can't see all the sordid nonsense that goes in my mind saying that!

Either way, behold. The full titanium PVE 'Big Dong CAI' that I wanted!

Extra BHP's?! Probably next to nothing at this point, although, it's a bigger diameter than the alloy one we'd thrown together a few years ago. When we come to machining the supercharger out next year, we'll be all set and golden! I just wanted it. Because I'm a childish fuck, and I'm happy with that! 🤘

Also a thanks to Stefan Golesworthy for some last minute titanium profiling!

Ed's Mk5 Ecoboost Track Car, Ed as far as I know Ed's Mk5 Ecoboost Track Car,

Ed as far as I know was one of the first people to run an Ecoboost in the Mk5 Fiesta all those years ago. It was magazine featured too, back when we had magazines, ahh, the good old days! Ed makes engine mounts for these little rockets, and has another build on the go as we speak!

Back when he first converted the vehicle it had an aftermarket ECU system on it. I think it's fair to say he slowly got a little dissatisfied with the system after a number of failures of various components. He made the decision to run the OEM ST180 ECU with an Immo off, and get it tuned accordingly to his hybrid turbo, and his Area Six engine.

I've dealt with Ed on a number of occasions, and well aware of his attention to detail and I was convinced we would be able to get the thing sorted for him.

We've worked closely with Kenny & Stu from Motorsport Developments LTD over the years, and knew this was a job for these boys!  A few datalogging sessions on the Dyno, and a the hybrid was dialled in giving us the boost curve and power curve we were after. Rev limiters raised, custom idle strategy as Eds engine mounts are designed more for 'track use' let's say, and some other little bits and pieces that he wanted.

The car made some nice power on his hybrid, but not absolutely ringing the neck out of it so nice for track use!

The PVE tuned Maxxecu powered Swallows XK8 doing the business. 

Lots of work gone into the development of this car from Swallows. Lots of custom handling and braking modifications making the old XK8 really sit up and roar!

The normally aspirated AJV8 topping 7250rpm helping jack pull some serious results in the series. Lots of fastest laps, lots of 1st places earning him some serious points.

Lots more exciting developments gone I to his new engine ready for next year, just to keep everyone on their toes!

Well done Jack, Tom, Gary and the whole Swallows Racing team. Proud to be a part of it.

This is a harness for a Jaaaaaag, on its way over to Colt in Indiana USA. We've supplied a custom harness to his specifications, including all the relevent Bosch goodies to upgrade it fully.

We can't supply the actual ECU outside the UK so he's gone to his local dealer to collect a MaxxECU Race.

At least he can have a decent cup of Yorkshire Tea and some biscuits on us while fitting it! Sweets in a package is so last year. Tea and biscuits baby!

Joe's Time Attack Championship R53 is proof that although sometimes things don't go smoothly, but keeping a cool head and attacking issues face on can pay off in dividends. 

Joe purchased what was thought to be a high quality engine, but turned out to be a bit of a lemon. Fortunately, the boys at 611 were up the challenge. The engine was pulled and shipped off to @sc_porting who bored it, fitted a correct size set of pistons and sent it back to Dave at 611. It was then bolted back in, and the journey from Manchester to good old Somerset back to us was made!

The Maxxecu / Maxxtuning AB Race controls the W11 perfectly, coupled with our remote mount harness it's the perfect race combination.

Joe has in car adjustable boost, internal datalogging for all the normal channels, including oil temp/pressure fuel temp/pressure, lambda, boost ect ect.

Putting down the right numbers for the setup, and should be an animal. Good luck for Snetterton Joe & Dave.

Straight back into it! Harness for an epic Discovery 2, heading off to Australia!Joe have me a call last year and we were chatting about building a harness for his Discovery 2 4.4 AJV8 project he was building. We were chatting about him putting the 8HP gearbox into this beasty, and the phone signal went a bit 90's. He apologised, as he was in the Ocean just off Perth. Perth?!Right.Long story short, I built this harness up for him to run the 4.4 AJV8, as fitted to the Range Rover L322, mated up to the 8HP gearbox and the Epic MaxxECU Race Gen2. And he 'popped over' to collect it and take it home in hand luggage! You Aussies are absolutely insane! I ordered from E-Bay an old Discovery 2 instrument cluster so that I could integrate the cluster for him. I've created some really basic tables that emulate the exact same behaviour as the OEM would have. Essentially an easy task here, but potentially drama from the opposite side of the planet! LOL!Without a doubt the furthest I've sent a harness, and Joe came through the door all smiles! Brought us over a Plush Wombat and some Aussie 'Road Signs' for the kids. The guy even offered to put us up if ever we wanted to go over there! I mean, what a gent!I'd not been looking forward to going back to work after the break honestly, but I've not met such an upbeat guy for ages! Happy new year Everybody.I thought I'd just take this opportunity to thankyou all for following our page, and indeed allowing us to be able to work with some of you on your projects.Most of you probably know, but PVE / Tuningshed is a partnership between Libby and Myself. There are only two people here, Libby, who basically keeps me on the straight and narrow, and Myself! So I'll apologise if sometimes we take longer to get back to you, or respond to an E-Mail, especially some of the more technical ones. It's literally just myself that can answer them, there is only me. So please be patient. :-) We've had some ups and downs this year. Another business scamming us out of £7k for parts that they did not have, or had any intention of sending. These sorts of liars and scammers should be erradicated from society, and I hope the person in question breaks his penis. More on this in the future! On the upside, we've shipped out more harnesses than we ever have. We've sold more ECU's than we ever have. We've been involved in more race wins than we ever have. Our social media growth has surprised me too. We've now got over 5k subscribers on Youtube, and 8k odd on Facebook. Again, something I'm surprised at, we've never set out to 'make content'. More 'Point the camera at something I'm working on' and chat about it a bit. So, go me right!? #influencerThe kids are slowly getting to an age where they're expressing an interest, naturally I'm trying my harderst to point them in any other direction other than cars! The photo is one I took a few years ago when they were all helping me clean up and service the dyno! BMW X5 X40D -> GM LQ9/LS conversion.Maxxecu / Original 8HP gearbox. All CAN-BUS satisfied. Gauges working and so on. Rad fans/shutters as per OEM. Zero wires cut, Maxxecu in OEM location using adaptor!Uncle Spike up next to sort the induction kit & make some tidy mounts for the 8HP shifter. Then on the Dyno.
